DESCRIPTION

The LCR-80 is not your conventional loudspeaker; it is designed to provide listeners with solid sound quality in environments that require multi-channel sound. This great compact monitor speaker can add high-fidelity sound to any small room or listening area.

The Design:

The LCR-80 monitor speaker cabinet is crafted out of 3/4" thick MDF (medium density fiberboard) for increased rigidity and reduced resonances. Each cabinet is aligned with a 1” soft dome tweeter for a wide dispersion combined with a 5-1/4" Kevlar cone woofer driver with rubber surround for natural sounding mids. The cabinet is sealed for accurate midbass response.

The Linkwitz-Riley crossover provides the slope design for blending between the woofer and tweeter. The crossover features high-quality aircore inductors and metallized polypropylene capacitors, all joined together by point-to-point soldering. All the features you would expect to find in a larger and more expensive speaker.

The Result:

The result is a monitor speaker designed for mixing and monitoring. It can be used with most types of music without being harsh or fatiguing to the ears. The sound this speaker produces is clean and clear at moderate levels, with a smooth bass response. It can be integrated with a subwoofer for even deeper bass response.
